BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

The No. 4 Bartlesville Lady Bruins (24-12) will host a Class 6A regional tournament Tuesday, following a strong regular-season finish. The Lady Bruins ended with four straight wins, including a sweep of No. 9 Bixby (17-6, 17-7) last Tuesday and two victories in a tri-game at Owasso last Thursday. 

Bartlesville 12, Collinsville 2

In their 12-2 win over Collinsville Thursday, the Lady Bruins took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. Kenzie Denny led off with a single, and Maddie Nachbor reached on an error to move Denny to third. Erin Bridendolph then drove a hard ground ball single to score Denny for the first run. Nachbor, Bridendolph, and Jazmine Campbell also scored in the opening frame. 

Collinsville added two runs in the top of the second, but Bartlesville’s defense held them scoreless for the rest of the game. The Lady Bruins pulled away in the third inning with home runs from Denny, Kelsie Yales, and Lola Reddington, totaling eight runs over the third and fourth innings to end the game. 

Maddie Czaja earned the win, pitching four innings. Denny finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI, and a home run. Savannah Alden went 2-for-2 with two runs and three RBIs, while Yales went 2-for-3 with a run, three RBIs, and a home run. Reddington also finished 2-for-3 with a run, two RBIs, and a home run.

Bartlesville 19, Owasso 8

In the 19-8 nightcap win over No. 15 Owasso, Bartlesville led 14-8 after the first two innings. Bridendolph led the offense with two home runs and two RBIs. The Lady Bruins’ defense limited Owasso to eight runs, while the offense added five more runs in the third and fourth innings to end the game early. Czaja, Denny, Reddington, and Campbell all hit home runs in the Lady Bruins win. Denny finished 2-for-3 with a run and three RBIs. Czaja went 2-for-2 with a run and four RBIs while also picking up the win on the mound.

REGIONAL BRACKET
The regional tournament begins Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Bartlesville taking on Deer Creek in Game 1. At 12:30 p.m., the loser of the first game will play Claremore in Game 2, followed by the Game 1 winner facing Claremore at 2 p.m. for Game 3. The tournament continues at 3:30 p.m. with the loser of Game 3 playing the winner of Game 2. The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m. between the winners of Games 3 and 4, with an "if necessary" game to follow at 6:30 p.m.
