The following is a roundup of Bartlesville varsity and junior high tennis:
__________
GIRLS TENNIS
Following a long recess from competition the Lady Bruins bounced back into competition with fierce purpose.
Competing in the Stillwater Quad — along with Durant, McAlester and Stillwater — the Lady Bruins swept all four divisions (No. 1 singles, No. 2 singles, No. 1 doubles, No. 2 doubles) against McAlester and Durant.
In the showdown against Stillwater, Bartlesville won at No. 1 singles and NO. doubles.
Bartlesville’s lineup included Abby Shelley (No. 1 singles), Ava Kelly (No. 2 singles), Bella Gustafson and Julia McKissick (No. 1 doubles) and Ava Kate Craig and Dani Rodriguez (No. 2 doubles).

BOYS TENNIS
Competing in the Stillwater Quad — which included Bartlesville, Stillwater, Durant and McAlester — the Bruins turned in a strong performance.
Bartlesville’s lineup featured Owen May (No. 1 singles), Hunter Breslin (No. 2 singles), Johnny Colmenero and Carson Covington (No. 1 doubles) and Mark Shaw and Bash White (No. 2 doubles).
Against Durant and McAlester Bartlesville finished 3-1, falling only at No. 2 singles. The Bruins won at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles against Stillwater. The Bruins’ No. 1 doubles team lost in a three-set grinder to last year’s state sixth-place finisher.

JUNIOR HIGH TENNIS
Bartlesville is headed back to the girls junior high state tournament.
The Bartlesville team clinched its spot by finishing fourth overall at last week's qualifier hosted by Ponca City.
“This is incredible,” said head coach Emily Hubler, who has presided in the program for four years and seen Bartlesville qualify each year.
During the qualifier, Sophie Kelly powered to second place at No. 1 singles and Mathi Jaysprasad nailed down fifth place at No. 2 singles.
The No. 1 doubles team of Josie Childers and Lydia Daniels came in 6th and Berkley Frye and Addie Kuntz battled to fifth at No. 2 doubles.
“These girls are all new except for Sophie Kelly,” said Hubler. “She went to state last year. I’m proud of these girls and all of the hard work they have done.”
Bartlesville also has qualified for the boys junior high state competition.
