Bartlesville to mount full-scale invasion at girls state tennis meet

Batten the hatches!

The Bartlesville High School girls tennis storm is set to hit this weekend’s Class 6A state tourney at full force.

The Lady Bruins surged through Monday’s regional with a near-championship sweep and qualified everyone for the Big Swing in Oklahoma City.

At No. 1 singles, Abby Shelley shut down all her opposition at the regional to win the title. She remains unbeaten on the season.

Ava Kelly captured the crown in the No. 2 singles competition. She carries a 13-5 mark into state.

Bella Gustafson and Julia McKissick continued with their thunderous display in the No. 1 doubles universe. They won the regional title and improved to 18-1. Their only loss was decided by injury default.

Claire Auschwitz and Ava Kate Craig battled to the third-place regional spot at No. doubles. Auschwitz and Craig have pieced together a 20-2 record.
