To celebrate the football season the BASR is featuring weekly picks by a distinguished panel of current or former sports media personalities or press box personnel. Readers are invited to jot down your own picks and see how you stack up.
Our prolific pack of proficient prognosticators — in alphabetical order — include:
DAVID AUSTIN: A former Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise Sports Reporter/Editor and very devoted and knowledgeable sports fan.
CHRIS BATCHELDER: Chairman of the Board for the Bartlesville Sports Commission, public announcer for Bartlesville High and major sporting events held locally.
BECKY BURCH: The co-founder and owner of the BASR, a former full-time photographer for the Bartlesville E-E and a current photographer and writer for the BASR.
JAMES DROZ: A social media legend from Bartlesville and former member of the Bartlesville High football team. Once announced a pick for Kansas City Chiefs at the NFL draft.
EVAN FAHRBACH: The current award-winning Voice of the Bartlesville Bruins for KWON radio (1400 AM, 93.3 FM).
TY KENT: A long-time Bartlesville resident and former Copan High basketball coach that worked with the media to get game details made public. Played basketball with Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
CODY MEADE: A dedicated volunteer to Bartlesville High School sports and on social media.
BRIAN McSWEENEY: A Bartlesville Radio personality and play-by-play/color announcer for area high school sports.
JAY STUMPFF: A former KWON sports radio broadcaster and very devoted and knowledgeable sports fan.
TREY STUMPFF: A former valuable student volunteer for Bartlesville High sports and radio technician and interviewer for Bartlesville radio.
MIKE TUPA: The former Bartlesville E-E Sports Editor for more than 27 years and current writer for the BASR.
RYAN WADE: A former BARTLESVILLE E-E sports reporter and photographer that currently lives in Texas.
