CROSS COUNTRY UPDATE FROM LAST WEEK: BARTLESVILLE, CANEY VALLEY, COPAN, DEWEY, OKLAHOMA UNION

BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

The following are summaries of recent area high school cross country action last week.

Several Bartlesville High School runners filled the ranks of spirited competition at the recent Tulsa Booker T. Washington cross country meet.

Other area teams went to battle at the Adair meet.

Following are results by division.

BARTLESVILLE VARSITY BOYS (5K)

Ellis Grayson burst to seventh place (18:58.1) to lead the Bartlesville charge.

Pierson Proctor (26th, 21:49.1) finished next for the Bruins followed by Elijah Burkett (28th, 21:52.9), Paydon Smith (22:36.8) and Blake Crow (23:30.8).

BARTLESVILLE JUNIOR VARSITY GIRLS (5K)

The Lady Bruins finished in a cluster, within nine places of each other.

The list included: Annie Murphy (9th, 27:12.5), Keyli Alvarenga (13th, 28:50.9), Adrian Ward (14th, 29:29.1), Raine Jones (15th, 30:12.9) and Khloe Henry (17th, 30:27.7).

BARTLESVILLE JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS (5K)

Sam Roper lassoed 20th place (21:03.9) to lead Bartlesville.

The team’s remaining finishers included: Jack Morgan (37th, 23:03.7), Xander Block (43rd, 23:37.9), Stephen Lauritsen (50th, 24:17.1), Jackson Miller (60th, 25:41.7), Oliver Bulleigh (64th, 26:22.8), Brayden Smith (68th, 27:36.9) and Joel Swart (71st, 28:28.0).

BARTLESVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS (2.5K)

Bartlesville bolted to first place with a near-perfect score of 19.

The Lady Bruins swept one-two-three overall — Madisen Dennis (1st, 9:54.1), Jillian Lindblom (2nd, 10:08.5) and Annika Dennis (3rd, 10:20.8).

The team’s next four finishers were: Melanie Glass (6th, 10:32.3), Margaret King (7th, 10:33.0), Brylee Kipps (9th, 10:34.8) and Penny McNall (10th, 10:35.2).

Other Lady Bruins in the Top 30 included: Mikah Hightower (12th, 10:57.8), Margaret Negus (14th, 11:09.5), Samantha Kane (15th, 11:19.5), Emerson Lindblom (16th, 11:20.1), Madelyn Potter (17th, 11:20.2), Karsyn Faulkner (20th, 11:25.8), Karis Riner (22nd, 11:35.5), Cora Miller (25th, 11:45.5) and Hayley Iwamoto (28th, 11:50.4).

BARTLESVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS (2.5K)

Bartlesville burrowed to fourth place out of 10 teams.

The top five Bruin placers included: Leo Winward (4th, 9:41.1), Bryce Bolitho (15th, 10:10.5), Jeremy Symes (18th, 10:14.6), Manny Jimenez (20th, 10:15.9) and Jase Hammond (10:23.4).

Rounding out the team’s top 15 were: Parker Teague (28th, 10:44.4), Carter Shea (33rd, 11:01.8), Joseph Laudero (11:05.4), Cody Nelson (47th, 11:33.0), Luis Chihuahua (58th, 12:09.1), Fletcher Eidson (60th, 12:14.0), Parker Callahan (12:31.2), Augustus Murphy (69th, 12:49.5), Ryker DeHerrera (74th, 13:10.9) and Reid Campbell (76th, 13:16.0).

DEWEY VARSITY BOYS (5K)

Dewey peppered the Top 35, led by Austin Eastman (9th, 18:36).

The team’s other top finishers included: Ryan Frisinger (15th, 19:10), Scott Horton (21st, 19:19), Kooper Crawford (31st, 20:00) and Zach Renfroe (35th, 20:15).

The next five fastest Bulldoggers were: Carter Sears (20:32), Tra Hicks (21:28), Gage Hawkins (22:27), Payton Godfrey (23:25) and Ethan Unkenholz (24:40).

Rounding out Dewey’s large team were: Weston Virden (24:51), Sawyer Willard (24:51), Tyler Roach (24:57), Fletcher McKinney (24:59), Jared Purkey (24:59), Owen Dingman (25:01), Anthony Smith (26:52), Ezekiel Fugate (29:24) and Logan Flanagan (32:52).

DEWEY VARSITY GIRLS (2 miles)

Adrianna Hicks burst to a Top 10 place in the Adair meet last week to lead the Dewey thrust.

Hicks finished eighth (13:04), followed by Tymberlynn Evans (22nd, 14:01) and Izzy Perry (27th, 14:12).

Rounding out the Lady Dogger contingent were: Arien Trease (16:08), Eden McKinney (18:17), Sayde Guilfoyle (18:19) and Aurora Smith (18:22).

CANEY VALLEY VARSITY GIRLS (2 miles)

Presley Smith continued her powerful season by finishing fourth (12:29) in last week’s Adair race.

Her next two closest teammates were Harper Watts (25th, 14:05) and Jocelyn Chancellor (26th, 14:11).

Roxy Hawkins (35th, 14:30) and Khloe Crawford (69th, 15:45), capped the Lady Trojans’ first five placers.

Rounding out the team were Abby Daigle (17:03), Sydni Brown (19:10) and Jaycee Tant (19:23).

CANEY VALLEY VARSITY BOYS (5K)

Brodie Harmon conquered the course in 22:49 at the Adair meet.

OKLAHOMA UNION VARSITY BOYS (5)

James Bottoms (24th, 19:33) and Koen Lowery (25th, 19:40) topped the Cougars’ charge at the Adair meet.

The next pacers from the Cougar crew included: Eli Wattenberger (44th, 20:39), Jimmy Williams (58th, 21:06) and Jestin Martinez (61st, 21:13).

Rounding out the team were: Holden Rouse (23:07), Travis Williams (23:58) and Ty Almy (24:16).

COPAN VARSITY GIRLS (2 miles)

Harley Shull crossed the line in 65th place (15:37) and Rylee Preston completed the team (20:09) in Adair.

OKLAHOMA UNION VARSITY GIRLS (2 miles)

The Lady Cougars captured the team championship at last week’s Adair meet.

Makenna Goemmer led the charge (3rd, 12:22), followed by Raiden Kuehn (7th, 13:01), Lauryn Jackson (9th, 13:06), Sawyer Jackson (16th, 13:35) and Cooper Robbins (60th, 15:28).

DEWEY JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS (1 mile)

Sadie Gomez scooted into 13th place (6:27) for the team’s top finish at the Adair meet.

Rounding out the squad was Paislee Mehagan (9:17).

DEWEY JUNIOR HIGH BOYS (1 mile)

Paxton Williams (6:57) led the Dewey crew, followed by Christian Catlin (7:08), Ryker Griggs (7:09), Marcus Black (8:24) and Brody Perry (8:33) in the Adair meet.

COPAN JUNIOR HIGH BOYS (1 mile)

Joseph Watts turned in a high-voltage effort (39th, 6:24) at the Adair meet.

COPAN JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS (1 mile)

Kennedy Ferguson (20th, 6:42) led the team, followed by Bayle McDowell (58th, 7:28) and Kahleya Klaus (61st, 7:36) at the Adair meet.

Rounding out the team were: Krane Lockman (7:44) and  Maddie Parker (8:44

OKLAHOMA UNION JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS (1 mile)

Alianna Johnson (40th, 7:07) led the team’s showing, followed by Kamry Rueder (57th, 7:28) at the Adair meet.

The other Lady Cougar finisher was Gaby Smith (10:14),

OKLAHOMA UNION JUNIOR HIGH BOYS (1 mile)

Daren Keath (26th, 6:14) led the Cougar crew, followed by Kutter Wesson (31st, 6:19) at the Adair meet.

Rounding out the team’s contingent were: Jasper Hawes (6:32), Tucker Forth (6:34), Carson Morris (6:34), Dalton Smith (6;43), Drake Dixon (6:52) and Silas Pyle (7:26).
