BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT
Jakob Hall continues to spin some impressive outings in his rookie year of pro baseball.
In fact the Bartlesville High School graduate has been sizzling as of late on the mound for the Fort Myers (Fla.) Mighty Mussels in Single-A ball.
During his last three outings, Hall (6-2, 225) has thrown 9.1 scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and two walks and striking out seven.
The hard-throwing right-hander has whittled his Earned Run Average down to 5.30 following a couple of rough outings in early May.
Hall has made 11 mound appearances — including three starts — for the Mussels, who are part of the Minnesota Twins organization. The Twins chose Hall on the eighth round (248 overall) in the 2024 baseball draft.
So far this season, he has put together a 2-0 record in 35.2 innings with 29 strikeouts and only 12 walks.
After finishing up his Bartlesville High days, Hall competed three seasons for Oral Roberts University, helping lead the team to the College World Series in 2023.
Hall also starred in Bartlesville American Legion Ball for the 19-and-under Doenges Ford Indians, as well as in 14-and-under ball in the Bartlesville Area Amateur Baseball league.
In his 11 appearances this season he hasn’t allowed a run in four outings and only two-or-fewer runs eight times.
Take away a grueling appearance in mid-May — in which he gave up nine hits and seven runs in 3.0 innings — and Hall has allowed just 29 hits and 14 earned runs in 33.2 innings in his other 10 outings.
The Mussels have used him as a starter three times, as an early reliever three times, as a middle reliever three times and as a closer twice. He earned both his wins in relief, although he posted two strong starts (7.2 innings, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 5 strikeouts and 1 walk).
