BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

It appears Bartlesville High School’s Jakob Hall’s pro baseball career is on hold.

According to the latest transaction information available on the milb.com website, the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels released the right-handed pitcher.

Hall played most of last season with the Mussels, a minor league affiliate in the Minnesota Twins organization. Minnesota had selected Hall in the eighth round (248 overall) of the 2024 MLB draft.

During a tumultuous rookie season during which Hall (6-2, 195) displayed flashes of mound brilliance but also sporadic stretches, he appeared in 28 games (three starts), worked 54.0 innings, fashioned a 6.83 earned run average, recorded a solid 3-1 win-loss record, walked 22 and struck out 45.

In Arizona Fall League play, he saw limited action (8.0 innings) and finished 0-2.

Hall established himself as a Bartlesville High baseball legend in all aspects of the game.

He graduated in 2021 and went on to play three years for Oral Roberts. Some of his cumulative college stats include: a 20-6 win-loss record, a 4.0 ERA (approximate), 232 innings, 239 strikeouts, 47 walks, no balks, no intentional walks, nine wild pitches.

In 2023 he played a key role on Oral Roberts’ push to the College World Series and started the opener against TCU. ORU won, 6-5, but Hall had a no-decision in five innings of work, in which he allowed only two runs.

As of now, Hall’s pro career seems on hold. Hopefully a new door of opportunity has, or will, open.

Either way, Hall has put together a remarkable baseball career — including dominating in Bartlesville American Legion play — that has been a culmination of great talent, desire, hard work and endless scrappiness.
