BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

Area firefighters and law enforcement will compete in the Guns vs. Hoses softball game Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium in downtown Bartlesville. The event benefits Bartlesville Special Olympics, with a 50/50 drawing during the game.

Bartlesville firefighter Ryan Witter said the firefighters have won the last two times the teams have met. "There's a lot of excitement about this benefit game, not to mention a lot of banter as usual back and forth."

Witter and Bartlesville Police Officer Sierra Compton came up with the idea to benefit Bartlesville Special Olympics, an organization important to both of them. A Bartlesville Special Olympic athlete will start the game with the first at-bat.

Concessions will be available at the game.
