DEWEY BULLDOGGERS DEFEAT CLASS 6A MUSKOGEE; 22-5 ON SEASON

BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

The Class 3A Dewey Bulldoggers defeated Class 6A Muskogee 5-2 on the Roughers’ home field Thursday. The win moved coach Riley Allen’s Doggers to 22-5 on the season with seven regular-season games remaining. 

Muskogee struck first with a run in the bottom of the third inning, but Dewey answered in the top of the fifth with three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Easton Davis drove in Jay Murguia and Chase Miller with a hard-hit single to center field. Nathan Sloan added a sacrifice fly to score Parker Garrison. 

Muskogee added a run in the bottom of the sixth, but Dewey secured the victory with two runs in the top of the seventh. 

Garrison and Layne Wilson led the Dewey attack with two hits apiece. Davis drove in two runs, while Miller added a hit and a run scored. 

Levi Wilson earned the win on the mound for Dewey.

Earlier in the week, Dewey swept Keys (Parkhill) 13-0 and 12-0. 

The Doggers next host Oologah-Talala (12-10) at 5 p.m. Friday, weather permitting.
