Area high schools rev up for state track meets
Dewey High School’s Camrin “CJ” Jones qualified for the maximum of four events for this weekend’s Class 4A-A state track meets. Pawhuska’s Brooklyn Miles and Madison Easley are also set to appear in four events, followed by Oklahoma Union’s Waylon Miner in three events.

The dramatic scenario is set for area high school track stars.
Several dynamic warriors from Dewey or smaller schools are set to go against the best in this weekend’s Class 4A-A state track meets.
None of the athletes of these schools goes in with a stronger statement than Dewey High’s Camrin "CJ" Jones. Jones has qualified in the maximum four events, including three individual events (400m dash, high jump, long jump and 4x400m relay).
Pawhuska’s Brooklyn Miles and Pawhuska’s Madison Easley also are set to appear in four events, two of them relays (Miles — 200m dash, 400m dash, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay; Easley — 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay).
Oklahoma Union’s Waylon Miner made the state grade in three events (100m dash, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay).
Dewey appears to be extremely strong in the boys’ hurdles and girls’ throwing events, brandishing the potential to win multiple medals in all of them.
