BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

The 2024-25 Oklahoma Union baseball team is making history. For the first time, the baseball team will be in the Class 2A-II state championship. The Cougars (19-10) hosted their own regionals last week, outscoring their opponents 51-1. Here are the regional scores: OKU 20, Minco 1; OKU 12, Hulbert 0; OKU 19, Hooker 0.

Head coach Aaron Funkhouser expressed pride in his team, including managers and assistant coaches. OKU opens state play in Shawnee on Thursday at 4 p.m. against Colbert. Other teams in the tournament are Ketchum, Vanoss, Mangum, Talihina, Walters, and Tushka.
