BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT
A blue tidal wave rolled through Custer Stadium on Tuesday night.
By the time it subsided the Bartlesville High School soccer teams had washed away the visiting Muskogee High squads by a goal total of 10-0.
Needless to say it made for a happy Senior Night to charge up the already electrified crowd on a warm April evening.
In the opening varsity match, the Bartlesville Lady Bruins surged to a 4-0 win to improve to 2-0 in District 6A-3.
The boys match followed, with Bartlesville taking complete control, 6-0, to earn its first district victory.
Next up, both Bartlesville teams make the long road trip Friday to Westmoore for their third district matches.
Following are more details about Tuesday’s wins.

Great guns!
That’s been the theme the last couple of matches for the Lady Bruins, who continue to recover from a slow start and are starting to gather momentum.
Tuesday’s impressive win followed up on a prized road victory at Owasso in a shoot-out late last week.
The Lady Bruins haven’t given up a goal in regulation in their two district matches.
But their offense also has been boisterous by keeping opposing goalies under first with blistering shots.
Some of the Lady Bruins that scored against Muskogee included Presli Cox, Kinzie Doss and Brooke Baker.
Cox scored the first (winning) goal at the end of a fiery charge toward the Muskogee net.
“She carried the ball and went and did the whole thing,” Bartlesville head coach Spencer White said.
White also praised the work of Lily Weimer in goal, the midfield work of Rebekah Stephens and the “lights out” play of back line battler Joley Erne in her return from injury.
The seven Lady Bruin seniors honored at Custer Stadium on Tuesday included Ashlei Cough, Ava Carter, Katen Bottorff, Baker, Chloe Shahan, Weimer and Sophia Roman.
The win late last week at Owasso provided a window to the team’s collective competitive heart.
Bartlesville and Owasso fought to a 0-0 tie in regulation and continued their scoreless deadlock in overtime. The game finally came down to the penalty kick shootout won by Bartlesville, five goals to four. Baker booted the winning point.

BOYS SOCCER
After taking a few lumps in a competitive loss last week at Owasso, the Bruins swarmed onto the Custer Stadium Field and deluged Muskogee, 6-0, for the vital district win to remain firmly in playoff contention.
Austin Bastings pulled a hat-trick out of the hat — three goals — to lead the rout.
Jacob Robledo, Carnell Lusuli and James Wehmeyer each scored one goal. Attacking midfielder Braxton Decker fueled the offense with three assists.
On the other end of the field, goalie Klayton Bastings completed the clean sheet with the aid of the back line, anchored by Robledo and Parker Spangenberg.
The Senior Night recognition also went well, assistant head coach Hosteen Walsh said.
“We wish the seniors all the best,” he added. “They’ve been fantastic in their character and leadership and we’re looking forward to traveling to Westmoore on Friday.
Owasso pulled out a 4-2 decision in last week’s district opener against Bartlesville.
“They (the Bruins) continued to battle throughout the entire game,” Walsh said. “We had some unfortunate things that didn’t go our way. This was kind of a learning process.”
Bartlesville’s next scheduled home match is April 15 against Bixby.
