BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORT REPORT,
Area teams played their final games of the regular season in preparation for upcoming playoffs. Following is a round-up of area games and playoff information.

Boys: Dewey 83, Oologah 73
The Bulldoggers avenged one of their only losses by beating Oologah, 83-73, last Friday. Oologah defeated the Bulldoggers in the Oologah Tournament, 68-51, on Jan. 9. Dewey’s only other loss was to Kellyville last December in the Adair Tournament.
Kooper Crawford led the Bulldoggers with 20 points in last Friday’s matchup, followed by Zach Renfroe with 18 points and eight assists. Other scorers included Karson Johnson (14), Austin Eastman (13), Tra Hicks (8), Gage Hawkins (8), and Jay Murgia (2).
"We played great from start to finish," said head coach Lance Knight.

Boys: Dewey 65, Caney Valley (KS) 62
The highway 75 battle between Dewey and Caney Valley (KS) went down to the wire Tuesday night, with the Bulldoggers coming out on top, 65-62. Dewey led most of the game, but Caney Valley came within one point in the last seconds. Dewey's Jay Murguia hit two big free throws with eight ticks on the clock to put the Bulldoggers on top.
"It was a great game, fun atmosphere, and Caney gave us all we wanted," Knight said. "I thought my kids played well on both sides of the ball."
Austin Eastman led the Bulldoggers with 18 points, followed by Zach Renfroe with 17 and Kooper Crawford with 16. Murgia added nine points, while Gage Hawkins and Tra Hicks had two points each.
Dewey (22-2) hosts Class 3A districts on Friday, taking on Sequoyah (Claremore), at 7:30 p.m. The teams last met in the Oologah tournament, with Dewey winning 66-51, in December.
"I have never felt better about going into the playoffs," Knight said. "We just have to play our game and do what we do."

Girls: Oologah 61, Dewey 53
The Lady Bulldoggers scored only four points in the first quarter and couldn't snap back from a 33-20 deficit at halftime at Oologah last Friday. Cassie Snead led with 14 points, followed by Adrianna Hicks with 10. Matney Epperson and Kaci Swan added eight each. CJ Jones had five points, followed by Chanley Herren with five.

Girls: Dewey 60, Caney Valley (KS) 48
Dewey (17-8) bounced back from last Friday's loss at Oologah to defeat Caney Valley (KS), 60-48 on the road Tuesday. While the Lady Bulldoggers started slow in the first quarter, they began to find the bottom of the net in the second quarter, said head coach Michael Sanders.
"The girls played hard tonight," Sanders said. "Caney is a tough environment to play in. The gym is small, and their fans pack it full."
Cassie Snead once again led with 16 points, followed by Adrianna Hicks with 10. Matney Epperson drilled four three-pointers. Other scorers included CJ Jones (8), Landry Herren (7), Tyeesha Sutton (3), Chanley Herren (2), and Kaci Swan (2).
Sanders is optimistic going into Class 3A districts on Friday at Dewey against Sequoyah (Claremore) at 6 p.m.
"I'm beyond proud of these girls finishing the regular season off with 17 wins, which hasn't been done in a very long time," Sanders said. "We are ready to make a deep push into these playoffs.
In their last meeting, Dewey defeated Sequoyah (Claremore) 46-44 in the Oologah Tournament.

Girls: Caney Valley 68, Oklahoma Union 25
The Caney Valley Lady Trojans are riding an 11-game winning streak, defeating Oklahoma Union, 68-25, last Friday on the road.
"We came out and played with great intensity," said head coach Deric Longan. "We were aggressive on both ends of the floor."
The Lady Trojans scored 24 points in the first quarter against OKU on Friday, going into halftime up 45-11. Harper Watts led with 16 points, followed by Presley Smith with 13. Khloe Crawford added 12 points, Adesta Henry had eight points, and Sydni Brown added five. Abby Daigle, Roxy Hawkins, and Faith Davis each added four points each.
OKU scorers included Kayden Jennings (6), Zoe Smith (5), Haylee Lewis (4), and Addison Harris (3). Addie Elms, Hurlie Callahan, and Jayce Jones each added two points each.
The Lady Trojans (22-2) host a Class 2A district championship on Thursday, taking on Nowata (8-15).
On the boys’ side, the Caney Valley Trojans (17-7) ended their regular season with a 62-44 win over Oklahoma Union last Friday. On Tuesday, Morris beat them 51-43 on the road. The Trojans take on Nowata Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Ramona for a Class 2A district championship

Oklahoma Union
The Cougars (5-19) head to Kansas (15-8) for Class 2A district playoffs on Thursday. OKU is on a four-game losing streak, following a 62-57 OT win over Nowata and a 65-58 victory over Quapaw.
The Lady Cougars (5-18) take on Kansas (22-1) in district play. The girls' game is at 6 p.m., followed by the boys' game at 7:30 p.m

Girls: Caney Valley 75, Morris 29
Presley Smith led with a season-high 29 points to help the Lady Trojans defeat Morris, 75-29, on the road Tuesday. Khloe Crawford added 20 points, including shooting 6-for-6 at the free-throw line. Caney Valley was 15-for-17 at the line.
"We shot the ball pretty well and defensively got after them," said head coach Deric Longan. "Abby Daigle was great last night. She does so many things well."
Sydni Brown scored seven, going 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. Faith Davis and Roxy Hawkins each scored six; Harper Watts scored four; Abby Daigle scored two, and Jaycee Tant added a free throw.
Caney Valley hosts district championships against Nowata at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The Lady Ironmen (7-14) picked up a 45-38 win over Ketchum at home Tuesday, in advance of Thursday's Class 2A districts at Caney Valley. Kaylee Bashford led the team in scoring with 18 points, followed by Lyrique Walker with 13. Other scorers were Jalyn Trotter (8), Maddie Smith (4), and Roxanne Hill (2).
On the boys’ side, Ketchum just beat the Ironmen, 58-54, in Nowata on Tuesday. Nowata (11-11) went into halftime down by eight points, 29-21. Talon Thompson led the Ironmen in scoring with 23 points, followed by Clint Harrington with 12. Caleb Woolman added nine points, followed by Adrian O'Dell with five.
Nowata travels to Caney Valley on Thursday for Class 2A districts. The girls play at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m

Pawhuska
The Lady Huskies (18-5) defeated Pawnee 38-14 at home Tuesday.
First-year coach David Lampton will take his team to Fairland, where he coached for two seasons, for Thursday's Class 2A district playoffs. Lampton coached at Oklahoma Union for over 30 seasons, with four state title appearances, and won the Class 2A state championship during the 1996-97 season.
On the boys’ side, the Huskies (13-10), which are coached by Jason Snodgrass, beat Pawnee 40-36 Tuesday during senior night.
Playoff game times at Fairland are 6 p.m. for girls, 7:30 p.m. for boys.

Boys: Glencoe 77, Wesleyan Christian 65
The Wesleyan Christian Mustangs, (20-6) lost their first-round game in the Class B1 regional playoffs, falling to Glencoe 77-65 Tuesday night. They face the winner of Thursday's elimination game between Olive and Depew in Glencoe Friday at 2:30 p.m. Steven Cooks is the coach. In their run to regionals, the Mustangs got a bye in the first round of districts and defeated Kremlin-Hillsdale 62-47 last Friday.
The Lady Mustangs face an elimination game in Glencoe on Thursday.

Girls: Welch 49, South Coffeyville 21
Welch defeated the Lady Lions at Crossover Prep 49-21 last Friday in the Class B1 playoffs.
The Lady Lions (11-14) will face Webbers Falls at 6 p.m. Thursday. Jeremy Rogers is the coach.
