BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT
It’s been a hectic week for area basketball teams spread throughout three tournaments.
Following are summaries of where area teams other than Bartlesville stand through Thursday games.

DEWEY BOYS
The Doggers (5-1) dashed through their first five games unbeaten, including a close road win at Pawhuska, 48-45.
The opened this week’s Adair tourney with a 60-55 triumph against Gravette (Ark.). But Kellyville handed Dewey a semifinal loss Thursday, 43-57.
Next up, Dewey will play in the third-place game.

DEWEY GIRLS
The Lady Doggers (2-4) snapped a three-game losing streak by outlasting Gravette (Ark.), 66-63, in the first game of this week’s Adair tourney. But Locust Grove dropped Dewey, 73-29, in Thursday’s girls’ semifinals.
Next up, Dewey plays for third place in Adair.

CANEY VALLEY BOYS
The Trojans (3-2) have earned a spot in the Copan boys championship game. In the first two rounds they took care of the Dewey jayvee, 62-33, and Copan 46-32.

CANEY VALLEY GIRLS
It’s been an unbeaten ride so far for the Lady Trojans (5-0), who will be playing Saturday for the Copan tourney girls championship.
Caney Valley has recorded four of its games by an average margin of 35 points.
In the first two rounds of the Copan tourney they vexed the Verdigris junior varsity, 61-32, and put the axe to Cedar Vale-Dexter (Kan.), 58-32.

WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL BOYS
The Mustangs (4-1) have stormed to four-straight wins, including the first two rounds of the Copan boys tourney against South Coffeyville, 83-28, and Cedar Vale-Dexter (Kan.), 67-35. Next up will be the championship game in Copan.

WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL GIRLS
The Lady Mustangs romped to a 5-0 record to open the campaign. The overwhelmed Barnsdall, 62-27. On Thursday, they downed South Coffeyville 55-25.

COPAN BOYS
The Hornets (2-1) split their first two games of the Copan tourney, beating Prue, 60-44, and falling to Caney Valley, 46-32. Next up is the tourney third-place game.

COPAN GIRLS
Copan had to open the season against its strong rival, South Coffeyville. South Coffeyville won both meetings by 11 and 12 points, respectively.

NOWATA BOYS
After winning their first two games of the season, the Ironmen (2-1) lost in the opening round of the Nowata tourney, falling to Mannford, 55-42.

NOWATA GIRLS
The Lady Ironmen owned a 1-2 record through their first three games. They recorded their victory against county rival Oklahoma Union, 84-42.
In the opening round of the Ty Hewitt Memorial Tournament, hosted by Nowata, Mannford downed the Lady Ironmen, 64-21.

PAWHUSKA BOYS
The Huskies (1-4) started the season without several players still finishing up the football seasons.
In their last two games, Pawhuska lost a couple of squeakers to Dewey, 48-45, and Frontier, 66-60 (OT).

PAWHUSKA GIRLS
The Lady Huskies burst out of the starting line at 4-1. In their most recent two games they got past Dewey, 61-54, and Frontier, 61-44, at home.
