Following is an update of the college athletic careers of some area prep products.

EMRY BROWN (Bartlesville)

Missouri-Kansas City volleyball

During her freshman season Brown — a 6-foot-outside hitter — has played in 61 sets (18 matches), delivered 71 kills (1.31 per set) and contributed three assists and three service aces.

As a Lady Bruin senior (2023-24), Brown amassed 502 kills, 339 digs, 62 aces and 39 blocks.

Former Bartlesville High School’s David Castillo continues his college basketball career at Kansas State University.

DAVID CASTILLO (Bartlesville)

Through seven games the former Bruin hoops legend is averaging in double figures for the Wildcats (5-2).

The 6-foot-1 sophomore guard is averaging more than 20 minutes a game and scoring around 11.5 ppg. He is shooting better than 50 percent from the field overall, including an impressive (through six games) 50 percent from behind the three-point line. He’s also dishing out nearly two assists per game.

As a freshman (2024-25), Castillo was the lone freshman on the roster for the full season and appeared in 32 of 33 games. He was named to the 2025 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team.

Castillo is the Bruins’ all-time leading scorer (1,594 points) — a feat he achieved in only three seasons before transferring to Kansas school for his senior year.

Former Bartlesville High School’s Gentry Turner continues her athletic career at Oklahoma State University.

GENTRY TURNER (Bartlesville)

Oklahoma State girls cross country/track

Turner finished 10th at the Wes-Crockett Invitational cross country 6K with a time of 22:19.6.

During her freshman season (2024-25) at OSU, Turner turned in the 10th-best time in the women’s 5K in OSU history (16:06.26) at the Payton Jordan Invitational.

She also ran against international competition in the U20 Championships in Oregon, finished 2nd in the women’s 3K and 5K races.

Former Bartlesville High School’s Braden Winters continues his athletic career at Southeastern Oklahoma.

BRAEDEN WINTERS (Bartlesville)

Southeastern Oklahoma football

Winters turned in another superior season at linebacker, racking up 60 tackles (21 solo) and four tackles for loss. He also made two quarterback hurries and two passes defended.

For his four-year career, Winters piled up 215 tackles (85 solo), 23.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and six passes defended.

As both a junior and senior he was named to the All-GAC Third Team. He also was named as a GAC Defensive Player of the Week

SWOSU football has two other Bartlesville football connections — head coach Bo Atterberry is a former Bruin head track coach and assistant and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Rich McGuire is a former Bruin head football coach (2000-03).

Former Oklahoma Union Cougar Baylor Nash continues his athletic career Southwestern Oklahoma.

BAYLOR NASH (Oklahoma Union)

Southwestern Oklahoma football

Nash has made a huge impact on the Bulldogs’ offense.

He caught 27 passes this season and led the team in receiving yards (548), receiving touchdowns (7), longest completion (54) and receiving yards per game (49.82).

The Great American Conference named him the GAC Offensive Player of the Week in late October after he caught six passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns in the team’s Homecoming Game.

For his two-year career he has pulled in 52 receptions for 845 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The SWOSU head coach is former Bartlesville High offensive coordinator Andrew Rice.

Former Bartlesville High School’s Sydney Collins continues her athletic career at Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

SYDNEY COLLINS (Bartlesville)

Oklahoma Wesleyan volleyball

Sydney Collins is nearing the 1,200 mark in season assists — an incredible achievement in anybody’s ledger.

She has tallied 1,184 assists — 12.08 per set — as the nation’s leading NAIA setter.

Collins also has contributed 256 digs, 34 kills and 20 service aces to this year’s Lady Eagles team, which is in the chase for a national championship.

A four-year starter, Collins’s career numbers are stunning — 3,365 assists (10.39 per set), 72 service aces, 76 kills, 810 digs and 60 blocks (55 assists).

OKWU (26-3) eyes two pool games next week in the NAIA national tourney unfolding in Sioux City, Iowa.

BRANDON O’ROURKE (Bartlesville)

Rogers State men’s soccer

O’Rourke leads the Hillcats in goals (5), assists (4) and points (14). He also has unleashed 13 shots on goal and scored two game winners.

He booted two goals in one match (vs. Harding).

In two seasons, O’Rourke has recorded 12 goals, nine assists, 71 shots, 32 shots on goal and five game-winning scores.

Rogers State (13-3-5) next takes on Lincoln (Mo.) at Soldier Field in Claremore.

AIDAN HOWZE (Bartlesville)

Kansas women’s swimming

During Kansas’ most recent competition, Howze advanced to the C Final in the 100-y breaststroke. She also competed in the D Final in the 200-y individual medley.

In a dual meet against Nebraska she powered to fourth place in the 200-yard breast (2:21.3) and she placed seventh place (1:05.74) in the 100-yard breast, less than a second from a top-five finish. Howze also finished ninth (4:33.25) in the 400-yard individual medley.

Back in the competition against South Dakota, Howze swam on the second-place team in the 200-yard medley relay.

In the 200-y individual medley she surged to third place (2:10.96) and in the 100-y breaststroke she claimed fourth place (1:06.4).

LUCAS WILSON (Bartlesville)

Avila football

Wilson saw 10 games of action and contributed 23 tackles as a defensive lineman.

He racked up 11 solo tackles and 12 assists.

ZOE MCCABE (Bartlesville)

Oral Roberts women’s soccer

She has contributed two goals, including a game-winner, and three assists this season. She has taken 14 shots on goal.

During the 2024 campaign, she played in all 22 matches and gave out an assist.

IAN BELONG (Bartlesville)

Houston Christian men’s soccer

Belong has appeared in 11 games and tallied one goal in two shots on goal.

During his four-year career at Bartlesville, he amassed 47 goals and 17 assists. He earned All-State honors as a senior after recording 16 goals and four assists.

JUNIOR EARHART (Bartlesville)

Avila football

A true freshman offensive lineman, Earhart is credited on the team website with two game appearances.
