GRACE MCPHAIL (Bartlesville)
Ottawa (Kan.) women’s basketball
After seeing action in six varsity games in 2024-25, McPhail has been called on for action in four games so far this young season.
The 5-foot-8 guard is averaging 1.6 points and nearly two rebounds per game. She is hitting nearly 70 percent of her free throws and shooting 50 percent from the field.

Caleb Perry

CALEB PERRY (Bartlesville)
Clarke (Iowa) football
Just a few years after his football-playing days seemed stymied, Perry burst out with arguably the best-ever college seasons by a former Bruin running back.
Perry ripped to 1,019 rushing yards on 219 attempts (4.7 ypg) and 10 touchdowns. He turned in a long run of 65 yards and didn’t lose a fumble in 10 games.
Perry (jr., 6-0, 210) rushed for more than 100 yards four times, including 181 and two touchdowns in a 27-23 win against William Woods (Mo.).
He seemed on his way to a blockbuster year in his senior campaign in the fall of 2020. But in the first half of the first game, he suffered an injury that cost him the rest of the season and made a detour — perhaps permanent — to his grid career. He remained on the sidelines cheering on his team throughout the 2020 season and after graduation served as an assistant.
However, three years ago he announced his decision to play college football and eventually transferred to Clarke. This was his first year playing for Clarke.

She is shooting a blistering 46-plus percent from behind the arc (13-of-28) and is nailing her two-pointers at a better-than 68-percent clip (15-of-22).
During her Lady Bruin days she was renowned for her ability to score a large amount of points in bunches and it appears she’s taken her game to a new level at Ottawa.
