Oklahoma Wesleyan University’s basketball teams pushed visiting Ottawa hard on Wednesday and plied a split in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference action.
The OKWU Eagles dropped Ottawa, 90-81, in a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s game.
OKWU, which is coached by Donnie Bostwick, improved to 15-2 overall and 10-1 in conference.
OKWU men reached 90 points for the third time this season, twice against conference foes.
In the women’s game, Ottawa rocketed to a 39-23 halftime lead, but OKWU dominated the second half before losing by six, 56-50.
OKWU — which is coached by Heidi Messer — is 6-11, 1-10 on the season.
Former Bartlesville High School stars K.K. Duncan and Grace McPhail both played for Ottawa.

Temaje Izuagbe and Yashi McKenzie put in 22 and 20 points, respectively, to lead OKWU.
Angel Hidalgos added 11 points, followed by Nathaniel Law with 10.
Izuagbe ripped the cords on 9-of-12 shooting from the field — including a perfect 8-of-8 from two-point range.
Hidalgos drilled three treys.
Jaden Wilson and Izuagbe both cleaned the glass with seven rebounds each and Ethan Williams handed out six assists.

WOMEN: Ottawa 56, OKWU 50
Gracie Alexander nailed three treys and scored 14 for OKWU, followed by Khassidy Warr with 11 points and six rebounds. Khamille Warr checked in with eight points, followed by Jaclyn Lara with six and Regalado Sophia with five.
Taliyah Harris delivered four assists.
Duncan started for Ottawa and scored eight points and made three assists.
McPhail came off the bench.
