BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT
Two Dewey High School boys galloped to top 10 finishes at Tuesday Inola Cross Country varsity boys 5K run.
In addition to Dewey, runners from Caney Valley, Copan and Wesleyan Christian School also participated as part of the dust-raising congregation of trail blazers.
Following is a team-by-team report. (Please note there may be some names missing, as not all of results were uploaded to the cross country site by deadline.)

DEWEY VARSITY BOYS (5K)
Head coach: Lance Knight
Junior Austin Eastman rocketed to eighth overall (18:27.04), followed by junior Ryan Frisinger (18:39.34) to spearhead the Dewey thrust.
As a team Dewey finished third (out of nine) while placing their first five runners in the top 45.
Junior Scott Horton finished third-fastest (29th, 19:37.36) for Dewey, followed by junior Zach Renfroe (35th, 20:11.05) and senior Tra Hicks (45th, 20:40.39).
Rounding out the Dewey squad were senior Kooper Crawford (50th, 21:13.24), junior Weston Virden (21:50.6), junior Tyler Roach (22:50.46), junior Gage Hawkins (23:36.46), junior Sawyer Willard (24:47.24), junior Tim Bright (25:41.86) and junior Ezekiel Fugate (27:-08.32).
Ten of the 12 Dewey runners were juniors.

CANEY VALLEY VARSITY GIRLS (2 miles)
Sophomore Presley Smith hammered out her second top-10 finish, eclipsing the finish line in fourth place (14:00.62).
Swift-footed freshman teammate Harper Watts claimed 10th place (14:36.74). Freshman Khloe Crawford hurried to 39th place (16:10.4), followed by Abby Daigle (54th, 17:56.3), junior Sydni Brown (20:13.25) and Jaycee Tant (21:23.92).

DEWEY VARSITY GIRLS (2 miles)
Senior Izzy Perry made most of the rest of the field dizzy by dashing to eighth place (14:28.52).
Rounding out the squad was senior Eden McKinney (18:22.37).

CANEY VALLEY VARSITY BOYS (5K)
Senior Brodie Harmon conquered the route in 23:51.52.

DEWEY JUNIOR VARSITY GIRLS (2 miles)
Dewey freshman Adrianna Hicks licked the rest of the field by winning first place (13:46.04).
Rounding out the Dewey contingent were freshman Tymberlynn Evans (10th, 15:32.54), sophomore Abrielle Trease (20th, 17:05.49), freshman Arien Trease (24th, 18:27.71), sophomore Sayde Guilfoyle (32nd, 19:24.71), and sophomore Aurora Smith (39th, 20:24.08).

COPAN JAYVEE GIRLS (2 miles)
Harley Shull placed 17th (16:29)

WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN JAYVEE GIRLS (2 miles)
WCS freshman Eleanor Burns sizzled to third place overall (14:27.77).

DEWEY JAYVEE BOYS (5K)
Sophomore Carter Sears bounded into eighth place (20:09.01) to record the third-fastest time by any Dewey runner on either varsity or jayvee.
Freshman teammate Payton Godfrey crossed the line in 21st place (21;29.2).
The next wave of Dewey’s pack included freshman Fletcher McKinney (31st, 23:07.45), sophomore Jared Purkey (41st, 25:09.79) and freshman Owen Dingman (49th, 26:02.56).
Three more Dewey runners conquered the course: sophomore Ethan Unkenholz (26:53.77), sophomore Mason Snellgrove (27:38.2) and freshman Anthony Smith (28:39.4).

WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN JAYVEE BOYS (5K)
Sophomore Keagan Herr hustled to 17th place (20:53.08), followed by freshman Brody Kaelber (26th, 22:22.81) and freshman Rowan Wipf (35th, 24:13.45).
Freshman Thomas Wisdom came in 39th (24:30.16).
Rounding out the WCS group was freshman Anthony Latorraca (26:37.51).

WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS (1 mile)
Mia Galvan led the Lady Mustang stamped by finishing 29th (6:56.56).
Teammates following her were Rowan Furnas (6:56.56) and Kiara Herr (7:25.6).

DEWEY JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS (1 mile)
Sadie Gomez bolted to 32nd place (6:43.06), followed by Paislee Mehagan (7:10.75).

COPAN JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS (1 mile)
Bayle McDowell claimed 45th place (6:52.21)

DEWEY JUNIOR HIGH BOYS (1 mile)
Christian Catlin finished in the top 75 (6:36), followed by Ryker Griggs (7:07.06), Paxton Williams (7:16.69), Marcus Black (8:14.5), and Brody Perry (8:46.84).

WESLEYAN CHRISTIAN JUNIOR HIGH BOYS (1 mile)
Two Mustangs surged to top 25 finishes — Garrett Gallery (17th, 5:47.28) and Simon Hay (21st, 5:50.88).
Rounding out the team were Levi Smith (6:56.8) and Parker Kaelber (7:20.08).

Joseph Watts landed in the top 65 (6:26.95).

Rylan Virden lodged into 13th place (6:35.68).

DEWEY ELEMENTARY BOYS (1 mile)
A large assemblage of Doggers populated the field. Those finishing in the top 50 included Dominick Eutsler (21st, 6:54.72), Kaysen Callahan (27th, 6:59.7), Nolan Snellgrove (36th, 7:18.12), Dakota Harris (46th, 7:36.16), Kayden James (47th 7:38.28), and Maddux Bellar (49th, 7:45.31).
Completing the nine-man team were Carston Groomes (8:32.5), Noah Wilson (8:33.4), and Aaron Drowatzky (9:09.72).

DEWEY ELEMENTARY GIRLS (1 mile)
We cannot tell a lie. Fallon Washington was one of the fastest runners in the division, finishing 11th (7:35.18).
Teammates coming in behind her included Laynee Prentice (43rd, 9:05.84), Paisley Benefiel (45th, 9:13.64), Perri McCauley (9:51.71) and Clara Mayer (10:17.03).

COPAN ELEMENTARY BOYS (1 mile)
Jameson Howard finished 30th (7:02.86) to spearhead the team’s showing.
Rounding team’s large number of runners were Jarren Shambles (32nd, 7:09.6), Tristan Taylor (45th, 7:35.94), Greyston Fourth (8:59.46), Colten Virden (9:21.25), Hudson Wadsworth, (9:23.5), and Will Baker (10:21.52).
