BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT
Bartlesville High School cross country runners stretched out last weekend in their first competitive 5K of the season.
They integrated with hundreds of other runners in the major test hosted by Rogers State University.
Even though Bartlesville didn’t number among the best teams, the Bruins and Lady Bruins still displayed some solid pack running — a good sign as the overall young crew of runners progress as speedsters.
David Ayres serves as head coach for both the Bruins and Lady Bruins.
Following are summaries for the two expanded varsity races.
LADY BRUINS
Three of Bartlesville’s top four girls finishers were freshmen — Karli Serratos (84th, 22.09.26), Isabella Prentice (86th, 22:15.25) and Madilyn Malcom (90th, 22:21.14).
Rounding out the top five Lady Bruins were junior Eliza Miller (87th, 22:17.8) and sophomore Afton Miller (107th, 22:54.87).
