The Bartlesville Lady Bruins are extending their early-season momentum under the leadership of new head coach Holden Yoder, carrying a 6-1 record into Friday’s game at Preston. They have outscored their opponents 63-17 this season with three run-rules and two shutouts.
With the help of pitcher Alison Rosson, who fanned eight batters, the Bruins defeated Bixby 3-2 at home Tuesday.
Bartlesville struck early in the first frame with two runs. With the bases loaded and two outs, Josie Childers singled on a ground ball. An error by the Bixby catcher allowed Londyn Bond and Erin Bridendolph to score, putting the Bruins up 2-0.
Bixby responded in the third inning with two runs to tie the game, but Bartlesville answered with a run of its own. It was once again Childers who drove in the decisive run after singling on a ground ball to second. From there, the Lady Bruin defense held on to seal the 3-2 victory.
Bridendolph spearheaded the offensive charge for the Lady Bruins against Bixby, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored. Childers provided immediate run support by driving in two runs, while Bond put together a multi-hit performance of her own, finishing the night 2-for-3 with a run scored. Lola Redington also chipped in at the plate, collecting one hit to round out the Bartlesville lineup's effort.

It was all offense Monday as the Lady Bruins dominated Putnam City West 13-1 and 15-0 during Bartlesville’s Senior Night doubleheader.
The opening game featured a powerful display at the plate, with Bridendolph crushing two home runs and Redington adding another. Bridendolph turned in a flawless performance in the game-one victory, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and six RBIs, while Nachbor added a spotless 3-for-3 effort of her own with an RBI.
Rosson needed just three innings in the circle to secure the game-one run-rule win, striking out three batters to anchor the dominant defensive performance.
The bats continued to ping in the nightcap as Bartlesville exploded for 15 runs across the first two innings of the 15-0 shutout. Josie Childers hit two doubles, while Nachbor, Kennedy Price and Rosson each added a double. Nachbor also collected a triple, while Paisley Bryant went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Scout Offutt contributed an efficient performance of her own, finishing 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBIs to fuel the doubleheader sweep.
Khloe Cornsilk worked only three innings in the run-rule to earn the win. She gave up four hits, only one run and struck out four batters.
Next up, the Lady Bruins travel to Preston on Friday.
