BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

There’s nothing like ending the regular season hotter than a lava stream rolling into the postseason.

That’s exactly where the Lady Bruins (25-11) are after winning 11 of their last 12 games, including a sweep of Pryor.

Bartlesville — which is coached by Kyle Minton —has been tabbed to host a regional, starting on Wednesday.

The first round begins at noon with the Lady Bruins battling Putnam City North (9-19).

In the other semifinal, Sapulpa (7-14) and Enid (30-6) clash at 2 p.m.

The first elimination game is set for 4 p.m. and the winner’s bracket semifinal at 6 p.m.

Play resumes at noon Thursday with the losers’ bracket final at noon.

The prospective championship game is set to begin at 2 p.m. If the loser’s bracket team wins the 2 p.m. game, there will be a winner-take-all game at 4 p.m.

The regional winner advances to the state tournament.

Bartlesville didn’t play Putnam City North during the regular season. The Lady Bruins swept Sapulpa, 10-0 and 11-0. Enid squeezed past Bartlesville, 2-1, in a mid-August game.
