BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT

The Bartlesville High School varsity softball team wraps up its regular season Monday at home against Pryor before hosting the OSSAA Class 6A regional tournament starting Wednesday.

The Lady Bruins (24-10) face Pryor at 6 p.m. Monday for their last regular-season game, looking to avenge a 12-1 loss suffered against the Tigers last Thursday. The regular-season closing stretch also featured a highly productive final week of September, highlighted by a 4-2 win over Claremore and a 5-3 victory over Oologah.

Led by first-year head coach Holden Yoder, Bartlesville put together a dominant eight-game winning streak that began Sept. 11 before finally being halted in an 8-3 loss to Yukon on Sept. 22.

Bartlesville 5, Oologah 3

Oologah struck first in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 1-0 advantage, but the Lady Bruins answered by scoring four combined runs across the third, fourth and fifth frames to build a 5-1 lead.

Jazmyne Campbell provided the primary spark for the offense, launching a solo home run to center field in the top of the fourth inning. Bartlesville added an insurance run in the top of the seventh, and the Bruin defense held the Lady Mustangs to just two runs in the bottom half of the frame to lock down the victory.

Erin Bridendolph paced the offense by going 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Josie Childers went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Campbell finished 1-for-3 with a home run and a run scored, and Lola Redington finished 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Campbell also earned the complete-game victory in the circle, scattering five hits and three runs over seven innings pitched.

Class 6A Regional Preview

Following Monday's action, the focus shifts entirely to postseason play as Bartlesville prepares to host the double-elimination Class 6A regional tournament on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Lady Bruins will meet Eisenhower (7-17) at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the opening game of the bracket. Eisenhower enters the postseason with late-season momentum after winning its final two regular-season games against Putnam City North and Lawton MacArthur.

The winner of the opening matchup will advance to face either Edmond Memorial or Sapulpa. The regional championship game is scheduled for noon Thursday, with a matching "if-necessary" game slated for 2 p.m.

The Bartlesville Lady Bruins roster includes: Pyper Schaper, Izzy Leib, Lydia Daniels, Alison Rosson, Bridendolph, Paisley Bryant, Childers, Kennedy Price, Madie Nachbor, Mattix Magana, Alayna Nightingale, Campbell, Adilyn Bevard, Aniston Burns, Dianne Nibblett, Khloe Cornnsilk, Karmandy Marsheck, Scout Offutt, Redington, Savannah Alden, Londyn Bond and Clarie Carder.

Bartlesville High head softball coach Holden Yoder walks near the dugout during a game this season. In his first year leading the program, Yoder guided the Lady Bruins to a home berth in the Class 6A regional tournament set for Wednesday and Thursday.
