TRANSFER POWERHOUSE BOND DRIVES IN FIVE TO POWER BARTLESVILLE SOFTBALL PAST PAWHUSKA FOR YODER’S FIRST WIN

First-year Bartlesville Lady Bruin fastpitch softball coach Holden Yoder picked up his first win Monday, when Bartlesville downed Pawhuska 8-4 in Bartlesville. It was also a first for Dewey Lady Bulldogger transfer powerhouse Londyn Bond, who smacked two homers and drove in five runs.
The Lady Bruins had plenty of hometown talent returning, including Erin Bridendolph, Lydia Daniels, Alison Rosson, Josie Childers, Madie Nachbor, Jazmyne Campbell, Karmandy Marsheck, Paisley Bryant, Lola Redington and Savannah Alden.
The Lady Bruins jumped early in the first two innings, leading 6-1 after two.
Bridendolph started Bartlesville with a triple to left field, with Bond scoring her on a line drive to right field. Bond would reach on an error. Daniels sacrificed to center field, scoring Bond to put the Bruins up 2-0. Childers then would double to score a run.
Pawhuska’s Katie Drummond hit a solo homer to center field in the top of the second inning.
In the bottom of the second inning, Bond homered over the left field fence, scoring Aniston Burns and Izzy Leib to put the Lady Bruins up 6-1.
Bond would homer again in the bottom of the sixth inning, again scoring Bridendolph. Both teams traded runs in the sixth inning, scoring two each.
The Lady Huskies added another run in the top of the seventh.
Bond led the offensive charge, going 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and three runs scored. Bridendolph finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Daniels collected an RBI. Redington and Burns each added a hit and a run scored in three at-bats.
Rosson picked up the win in seven innings with four hits, four runs and seven strikeouts.
Other Lady Bruins on this year’s roster are Pyper Schaper, Kennedy Price, Mattix Magana, Alayna Nightingale, Adilyn Bevard, Aniston Burns, Diane Nibblett, Klhoe Cornsilk, Scout Offutt, Brandy Moles and Claire Carder.
Emily Curry led the Lady Huskies with two runs batted in, going 1-for-3. Brooklyn Miles, Emillie Curry, Preslee Long and Katie Drummond each collected one hit each.
Next up, the Lady Bruins head to Collinsville on Tuesday.
Bartlesville Lady Bruin Londyn Bond gets set at third base. She transferred from Dewey to play for the Lady Bruins this year.
