BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT
Offensive power rose to an Artemis II level during Thursday’s varsity slowpitch doubleheader between Bartlesville and Enid.
How’s this for astronomical numbers for two games?
— 49 hits.
— 14 homers.
— 22 walks.
— 43 runs.
— 29 runners left on base.
— 94 total bases.
Perhaps it was fitting the teams split — Enid squeaked out a 9-8 decision and Bartlesville withstood a late rally to win, 14-12.
Bartlesville — which is coached by Kyle Minton — saw its record go to 11-7.

ENID 9, BARTLESVILLE 8
The Lady Bruins seemed to have a victory in hand as they went into the bottom of the seventh leading 8-4. But Enid put on a rousing five-run rally to spoil Bartlesville’s four-game winning streak.
Bartlesville certainly did what it needed to do offensively — 14 hits, including one homer each by Kenzie Denny, Jazmine Campbell, Savannah Alden and Erin Bridendolph.
Madie Czaja added a double.
Czaja, Bridendolph and Denny each drove in two turns. Belting two hits apiece were Czaja, Campbell, Kelsie Yales, Denny and Lydia Daniels.
Nine different Lady Bruins scored a run apiece.
The game had been tightly contested throughout and was tied, 4-4, through five innings. Bartlesville edged ahead in the sixth, 5-4, and added three runs in the top of the seventh.
But Enid put together a walk-off comeback to take the brow-wiper.
Czaja pitched a complete-game 11-hitter.

BARTLESVILLE 14, ENID 12
Bartlesville bounded back with a 17-hit barrage, led by Yales with four singles and Daniels with three singles.
Bridendolph, Alden, Campbell and Lola Redington each blasted a dinger; Alden also delivered a sacrifice fly.
Bridendolph and Denny both doubled.
Bridendolph, Alden and Redington drove in three runs apiece.
Bartlesville batters recorded one especially impressive statistic — no strikeouts.
This was a game of big innings. Bartlesville scored seven times in the top of the third to go ahead, 8-4. Enid snapped back with six runs in the bottom of the fourth to flip-flop the lead, 10-8.
Bartlesville answered with four runs in the top of the fifth to reclaim the advantage, 12-10. Going into the seventh, Bartlesville led by four, 14-10.
Enid made another final inning uprising but fell short.
Denny pitched the distance for Bartlesville and overcame 11 walks and three homers for the win. She scattered seven hits and struck out two. Only eight of Enid’s runs were earned.

BARTLESVILLE VS CLEVLAND AND OWASSO
Let the good times keep rollin’.
Following a shaky season start the slowpitch softball team of Bartlesville High School is riding the crest of an explosive tsunami.
The Lady Bruins scorched a pair of foes like dragon breath during a tumultuous Tuesday.
They clobbered Cleveland, 16-1, and dusted off Owasso, 15-5, at the Lady Bruin Complex.
Coached by Kyle Minton, the Lady Bruins improved to 10-6 and 9-3 in their last 12 games.
They extended their string of double-digit scoring games to five straight and to 12 in their last 13 contests.
Next up, they travel to the USA Softball Festival to finish out the week.

BARTLESVILLE 16, CLEVELAND 1
Kenzie Denny pitched the distance in the run-rule shortened game (three innings). She allowed only two hits and two walks and struck out one with Kelsie Yales as her catcher.
Jazmine Campbell continued her Babe Ruth-like offensive eruption — two homers, a double, three runs scored and seven RBI.
Lola Redington and Denny both added a homer and a single and plated three and two runs, respectively.
Lydia Daniels, Erin Bridendolph and Yales each smacked a double; Yales drove in two runs. Paisley Bryant also recorded two RBI.
Ten different Lady Bruins scored at least one run and nine contributed at least one hit. Savannah Alden walked and scored twice.

BARTLESVILLE 15, OWASSO 5
Owasso proved to be a stubborn challenger.
The visiting team grabbed a 3-0 lead and forged a 5-5 tie through three-and-a-half innings.
But Bartlesville — which blasted six homers — scored 10 unanswered runs between the fourth and fifth innings.
Redington and Alden each slugged two dingers. Redington racked up four RBI, giving her 11 on the day.
Alden, Maddie Czaja and Bridendolph each drove in three runs.
Campbell and Bridendolph cranked one circuit clout apiece. Bridendolph also tripled.
Karmandy Marsheck doubled and drove in a run.
Seven Lady Bruins belted multiple hits — Czaja, Madie Nachbor, Bridendolph, Alden, Yales, Denny and Redington.

BARTLESVILLE VS TAHLEQUAH
Bartlesville High School’s bats transformed the Tahlequah Lady Tigers to kittens in varsity doubleheader action earlier this week.
The host Lady Bruins — who are coached by Kyle Minton — tamed Tahlequah, 17-8, and 16-6.

LADY BRUINS 16, LADY TIGERS 6
Bartlesville pounded 17 hits — with 11 different batters contributing at least one hit.
Erin Bridendolph crushed two solo homers to set the tone. During one stretch the Lady Bruins smashed three homers in a row — one each by Bridendolph, Savannah Alden and Jazmine Campbell.
Karmandy Marsheck delivered a fourth Lady Bruin moon shot. Campbell also doubled. Marsheck and Campbell drove in four RBI apiece.
Rhett Pendley added a double and RBI.
Alden, Lydia Daniels and Lola Redington each ripped two singles. Maddie Czaja and Kenzie Denny plated two runs apiece.
Bartlesville pulled away with 12 runs in the bottom of the third and never looked back.
Bridendolph homered in each of her first two at-bats, including leading off the 12-run tsunami in the third inning. Alden and Campbell blasted back-to-back dingers to close out the scoring in the third.
Czaja pitched the distance, scattering 10 hits and two walks, with Yales as her catcher.

LADY BRUINS 17, LADY TIGERS 8
Alden hammered two homers and drove in seven runs as a one-girl wrecking crew. She finished with three hits and three runs scored.
The other 13 hits smacked by Bartlesville were all singles, led by Czaja, Yales, Denny and Marsheck with two apiece. Bridendolph also walked four times and scored four runs.
Iron-willed Czaja pitched the complete game again. She allowed 10 hits and four walks and struck out one.
Bartlesville improved to 8-6 and 7-3 in its last 10 contests.
