BARTLESVILLE AREA SPORTS REPORT
After a long hiatus, regular season high school cross country competition returned last weekend to Bartlesville.
Host Bartlesville High School runners more than honored the spirit of Jeff Potter Cross Country Classic, which drew competitors from a half-dozen other schools.
In the varsity girls’ 5K, Bartlesville rumbled to a top three team finish.
Bartlesville hustled to fourth place in the varsity boys’ 5K, but completely dominated the junior varsity boys 5K.
Bartlesville pacers also won the middle school girls two-mile battle with an almost perfect score.
Guiding Bartlesville cross country as head coach is David Ayres.
“Absolutely,” he said about how the meet came off considering Bartlesville hasn’t held a regular season home meet in several years. “I thought everybody had a good time. The course was in good shape. … We had a lot of positive reviews.”
The race took part on the school property adjoining Sooner Park and near Madison School.
Following are division-by-division results for Bartlesville teams.
