Even the shark in “Jaws” couldn’t rip through the water with more dominant authority than the swim team of Bartlesville High School has done in its first three meets.
The Bruins and Lady Bruins devoured their latest competition — Stillwater and Ponca City — in last Tuesday’s home tri-meet to remain unbeaten.
The Lady Bruins (8-0) outpointed their worthy victims by a combined total of 227-74 in the girls’ competition.
In the boys showdown, Bartlesville (8-0) subdued its challengers, 197-119.5.
Bartlesville pool warriors are revving up for a major test at Tulsa Union, which also will include defending state champion Jenks.

LADY BRUINS
Once again, Bartlesville swept all three relay swims in the girls’ division.
The victorious Lady Bruin relay teams were: 200-yard medley (Nora Craig, Ashlyn Taylor, Taylen Pratt, Karis Shamhart), 200 freestyle (Craig, Shamhart, Sophia Williams, Anna Young) and 400 freestyle (Pratt, Young, Kuntz, Taylor).
Bartlesville’s multiple individual event winners were: Young (200 free, 100 fly), Ashlynn Taylor (500 free, 100 back) and Shamhart (100 free, 100 breast). Pratt ruled the 50 free.
NOTABLE: Anna Wells improved her time in the 200 freestyle by nearly four seconds.

BRUINS
Bartlesville surged to the boys’ 200 freestyle relay championship. The Bruins on the relay foursome were Anthony Mann, Kevin Contreras, Blace Williams and Parker Shoesmith.
In individual events, Travis Lief won twice (200 individual medley, 100 back) and three other Bruins conquered one swim apiece: Mann (100 free), Williams (500 free) and Miles Brown (100 breast).
NOTABLE: Contreras sliced nearly six seconds off his time in the 500 freestyle (5:39.13 to 5:33.95), Grayson Ellis dropped a full two seconds off his 100 freestyle time (:52.98 to :50.85) and Aysen Offutt blitzed through the 100 butterfly in :57.72, nearly five-and-a-half-seconds faster than his previous best this season (1:03.07),
